Metaphor A-Z

The Nervous System (Nerves)

The nervous system is made up of the brain, spinal cord and a variety of nervous tissues. Together they receive and respond to stimuli. Our brain symbolizes our thinking and how we use our mind; it is the core of the nervous system. Problems with the nervous system indicate that we have lost our ‘nerve’ about something and have succumbed to fear. With nerve problems our conflicts have engendered so much fear that we feel the only course of action is to retreat or stop altogether.
