Metaphor A to Z
Poisoning
Poisoning occurs when a toxic substance of some kind enters the body.
This comes about when we mistakenly believe that we are poisonous to those around us. To prevent this, we poison ourselves.
These shadow self-concepts are rejected, hidden and then projected outwards onto poisonous substances entering the body. We have a belief that we are helping those around us by taking the poison so as not to poison others.
We may be experiencing a toxic person or situation, or be feeling that we haven’t gotten over a past toxic experience.
This subconscious layer hides an unconscious layer where we believe that we are toxic. Both the subconscious and unconscious levels of this problem are usually repressed.
