Metaphor A to Z
Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is the most prevalent bone disease in the world. It is the result of decreased bone density, which causes our bones to weaken.
We have feelings of scarcity, fear and inadequacy that are eroding our strength and character. Any roles that have served as compensations to hide feelings of neediness, hurt and guilt begin to break down.
We have an opportunity to integrate and heal old, hidden emotions.
Roles, which are compensations, are defenses that stop us from receiving. These roles are not true giving, and are merely defenses.
They may appear strong and good, but they are sacrificial and hide feelings of fear, neediness, failure, guilt, etc. If we choose to integrate or melt the roles and hidden feelings together, we can achieve new levels of strength and integrity, and develop the ability to receive.
With integration, instead of compensation, there are new levels of innocence, peace, wisdom and centeredness available to us.
