Metaphor A to Z

Hyperactivity

Hyperactivity is often seen in children. It is a symptom that involves excessive activity and it is often accompanied by impulsiveness and distractibility.

Hyperactivity is a compensation, either for depression, anxiety or for a belief that we are lazy. There is something that we feel we must do to help; however, we don’t have an idea of what it is and are afraid to find out.

It may be hiding some ancestral, soul issue or a lack of bonding. Hyperactivity means that we have excessive energy coming into our body but are unable to process it.

Our receiving channels are open, yet we are unable to deal with the enormous amount of available energy. Our body’s response is to try and burn it off.

The problem stems from an inability to ground ourselves and use the available energy responsibly. We feel scattered and overwhelmed about what we are called to do.

In an adult, hyperactivity is often expressed as stress. No matter what age we are, hyperactivity is a call to prioritize and integrate
