Metaphor A to Z

Gums

The gums are the fleshy tissue covering the top of the jawbone.

Gums represent the mediation between our sense of self and the world. They portray tenderness, sweetness, vulnerability and intimacy.

Problems with our gums signify that we are having difficulty interfacing with the world.

We are feeling too vulnerable to share ourselves or give to the world.

This is some negative, buried script or story eating away at us.
