Metaphor A to Z

Belly Button

The belly button is the place where the umbilical cord attached us to our mother when we were inside the womb.

This was our source of nourishment and survival as a growing baby. The belly button signifies joining with our mother.

Problems with the belly button indicate that we feel off-center, stifled by our mother and have issues in regard to receiving or nurturing.

Whatever issue we are addressing feels like a core issue to us.

Being born with the umbilical cord around our neck, choking us, reflects soul level issues of self-destructiveness.
