Amnesia is loss of memory. Some emotional shock has led us to attempt to block out our past. It is an attempt to find a new identity.
There is something that we can’t face; we would rather forget than have to deal with it. Amnesia, in some cases, can also be a return to a more original self; a memory loss of part of our life in order to return to something more essential.
In some cases of Amnesia an unconscious part of our mind has surfaced with enough power to knock us out. The part that surfaces may become prominent and we might have difficulty integrating it.
With Amnesia we may be trying to forget some specific experience but instead we end up repressing our entire memory.
Occasionally, Amnesia can result in experiences of mastery level no-mindedness where we experience living in the here and now. In our forgetfulness of ego, there is a remembrance of being, which is our redemption.
